Mr. Baird shows us Thailand
Report 2
I thought that I would tell you a bit more about my time in Thailand.
So far its been fantastic!

The children in my class are all learning to speak English as well as all the other subjects!
From year 3 the children are only allowed to speak Thai in ‘Thai’ lessons and in the playground. If they speak Thai in any other lesson they receive a ‘RED CARD’ and they miss their break!

I have made some new friends in Thailand too!
This is me having a bath with an elephant!

At the moment it is the cool season in Thailand. The temperature is about 28 – 30 degrees in the daytime
(which is very hot)
By April it will be the hot season. The temperature then will be 38 – 40 degrees everyday!

Thailand is a very old Country. It used to be called ‘Siam’. There are hundreds of historical sites to visit in Bangkok and throughout Thailand.
Religion is very important here. Most people are Buddhist. There are not many Christians.
Year 5 have now established e-mail friendships with the Year 5 children in Thailand. The e-mail club meets on a Monday lunchtime and the children exchange information on their lives across the globe on a regular basis. Despite the miles some things are not that different!
Here are a few extracts to give a flavour of Thailand 2008.
My
Over the Christmas holidays I stayed at home in
Bangkok

For Christmas I went to Koh Chang to my house. I went on a snorkeling trip to other islands, it was very fun.

Japan
has very high technology. The doors open automatically and there are electronic toilets. I cannot speak Japanese but we could point to things.
I enjoyed my Christmas holiday a lot I went to khaoYai. KhaoYai is surrounded by many mountains and rainforest.
