Wheels and Axles

We are learning all about wheels and axles.

 

First we looked at a selection of toys with wheels to see how they worked.

 

Then we looked at some cardboard wheels and axles that were joined in different places to see how they moved.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some went straight and fast, some were very funny, 

some went up and down and some tried to escape off the table!

 

 

Well caught!

 

 

Then we tested some wheels and axles on the computer to see if we could predict how they would move.

Next we designed our own roly poly.

 

 

Here we are copying our designs onto the wheels and axles.

 

Then it was time to make them!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then it was time to put them to the test.
